Daylight Robbery: A ‘How-to’ Guide by John Moore

Ever wonder why you never see dramatic hold-ups at gun-point with Brits

involved?  New comedy play ‘Daylight Robbery’ embraced the witty, sarcastic,

oh-so-British sense of humour in its bid to follow the desperate attempts

of a rather nervous young man in the face of cynicism, sarcasm and good old

fashioned disrespect.

Performed on the 27th & 28th May in The Debating Chamber.

Betrayal by Harold Pinter

The play’s subject is not sex, not even adultery but the politics of betrayal and the damage it inflicts on all involved.”
Harold Pinter’s penultimate play, “Betrayal” commonly known as “the backwards play” revolves around the love triangle of Robert, Jerry and Emma and explores how the politics of betrayal can be perceived universally.

Performed on the 2nd, 3rd & 4th June 2010 in The Debating Chamber.

4.48 Psychosis by Sarah Kane

‘What do you offer your friends to make them so supportive?’

Sarah Kane’s final play explores the rhythms of madness and depression; her stunningly poetic language delves into the darkest depths of human consciousness whilst creating the most beautiful of theatrical imagery. 4:48 Psychosis is ‘As compact and beautiful as a diamond in structure – and yet the mood it inspires is as black as coal’.

Performed on the 9th, 10th & 11th June 2010 in The Debating Chamber.

The Arsonists by Max Frisch

A city’s being plagued by arson attacks, how will the everyman respond? Max Frisch’s moral play without a moral fuses ethical questioning with sparks of humour.
