The Art of Losing (and how to do it gracefully) by Florence Hope
Written by Florence Hope and directed by Jess Duxbury
A girl is swallowed by a time machine. A man loses his right arm and his
sense of humour seems to vanish alongside it. A powerful magician
irrevocably disappears the most important thing he has ever known.
The Art of Losing is a series of monologues, duologues and
stories-told-backwards centred around the themes of loss and magic. Set in
an ever-so-slightly strange world where nothing is taken for granted and
anything can vanish, the new offering from SUDS Theatre explores how a
series of slightly odd characters react when everything goes a little bit
sideways.

We’ll Meet Again by Rosanna Wood
Based on a true story and set mainly during the Second World War, We’ll Meet Again focuses on the life of one woman as she struggles to cope with the oppression of her family and her desire for a more exciting life. As she begins to claim the independence she has longed for, she soon finds that chasing after excitement has consequences she is not quite prepared for and betraying the values she held so highly brings guilt that echoes into generations to come.

Richard II by William Shakespeare
Richard is a willful and politically naïve king deriving his self-assurance from his deeply held belief in his divine authority to rule. However when he banishes a dangerous rival and seizes his estate to fund a war abroad his nobles begin to turn against him. Richard returns home to find not only his crown under threat, but his very conception of kingship and the right to rule. Set in the early twentieth century towards the end of the reign of the Tzars of Russia, this interpretation focuses on the political fallout when modern power relations suddenly confront absolute monarchy.
